Mardi Gras on the Beach… But First, Chaos on the Road!

Sharamane enjoying the view, finally!

Y’all ever set out on a trip thinking it’s gonna be all smooth sailing, just for the universe to laugh in your face? Yeah, that was us. We hit the road in our RV, all excited to experience Mardi Gras on the beach in Pensacola, Florida, but let’s just say, things didn’t go exactly as planned…

First Sign of Trouble: The Flat Tire

Not even a few hours into the trip—boom! Flat tire. And not just any flat, but one with a big ol’ nail in it. Ever tried changing an RV tire on the side of the road? Let’s just say, it ain’t for the weak. But we powered through, got it swapped out, and thought, “Okay, that was our one bad thing. We’re good now.”

Nope. The Tire Decided It Wasn’t Done With Us.

We’re cruising along, feeling like we finally beat the bad luck, when out of nowhere—our tire just straight-up yeets itself off the RV. Gone. Vanished into the night like it had better places to be.

So there we were, stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere—aka Blakely, Georgia—at some ungodly hour, waiting two hours for help to arrive. You ever stood on a dark highway in the middle of the night, wondering if you accidentally stepped into a horror movie? Because same.

The Quest for Parts & Finally Making It to Mardi Gras

After what felt like forever, we finally got the RV to a spot where we could start the real mission—finding all the parts to replace the wheel hub and everything else that had decided to betray us. Because, of course, it wasn’t just a simple fix.

But after a wild detour through auto parts stores, some questionable roadside repairs, and a whole lot of “Why do we do this to ourselves?” moments, we finally made it to Pensacola Beach the next day. And let me tell you, that first glimpse of the ocean? Pure magic.

So, was it worth it? Absolutely. Would we do it again? Maybe with a few more spare tires.

Now, let’s Mardi Gras! 🎭🔥
